Catering for Your Private Boat Parties and Events

Parties come in all shapes and sizes, from classic and elegant wedding parties and rehearsal dinners, to casual corporate events, to celebratory Bar/ Bat Mitzvahs, to free spirited student cruises. Potomac Riverboat Company can help you choose the right catering and the right food for your event. The distinctive and custom catering options available to clients through our select list of caterers will enhance your event as your private party cruises the Potomac River on one of our private charters. While private catering is not available for our sightseeing boat tours and cruises, popcorn, pizza, beer and soda are served during public sightseeing cruises and tours for your enjoyment.

When chartering the CHERRY BLOSSOM or the MISS MALLORY, you are required to have catering staff from the list of preferred caterers.

Recommended Caterers for the Cherry Blossom and the Miss Mallory

You are required to use one of the following caterers on the Cherry Blossom and Miss Mallory. We also suggest these caterers for our other boats. They will supply the tables, linens, glassware, china, nice disposables, bar equipment, and service personnel, including waiters and bartenders. They will custom design a menu to suit your taste and budget.

Please note that only caterers are allowed to bring food onboard the Cherry Blossom and the Miss Mallory.

Catering on the Miss Christin, the Matthew Hayes and the Admiral Tilp

You may choose your caterer from our suggested list, or cater the event yourself on the Miss Christin, the Matthew Hayes or the Admiral Tilp. The caterer supplies service personnel, including waiters and bartenders.

If you cater the event yourself, here are some helpful reminders:

  • Linen for buffet table (3’ x 6’)
  • Aluminum foil or plastic wrap to protect your food
  • A minimum of four(4) 55-gallon trash bags
  • Utensils and condiments
  • Ice in easy-to-carry coolers
  • Corkscrews, napkins, bottle openers, and cups
  • Fruit for mixed drinks

We suggest that you serve finger foods, such as small sandwiches, fruit and cheese platters.

Please note that propane gas for heating is not permitted on any of the vessels.

PRC sales staff will coordinate the caterer’s and your set-up time.
